Ashes to Fashion

A FREE, unmissable learning experience at the Ulster Museum

Ashes to Fashion is a major new exhibition at the Ulster Museum that tells an extraordinary story of loss, resilience and a collection reborn. This landmark exhibition showcases over 100 remarkable fashion objects, celebrating five decades of collecting. From eighteenth‑century dress to contemporary couture, the exhibition offers a rich visual journey through colour, materials, craftsmanship and ideas.

A visit supports creative learning across the curriculum and provides opportunities for pupils to:

  • Look closely and talk confidently about the work of artists and designers
  • Explore colour, texture, materials and processes through real fashion objects
  • Reflect, discuss and respond creatively through fashion-inspired creative activities in Discover Fashion
  • Understand the importance of artists and designers in the world around them
