amanda croft lecture series: anniversaries in art, 2026
A series of five lectures looking at 'Anniversaries in Art: 2026' with Amanda Croft
Anniversaries in Art: 2026
This year sees a number of national and local exhibitions celebrating anniversaries: Constable and Turner, Gwen John, the Bayeux Tapestry and Ashes to Fashion charting the rebirth of the Ulster Museum’s fashion collection lost in a fire at Malone House in 1976.
2026 also marks the centenary of the births of Queen Elizabeth II, Marilyn Munroe, Beryl Cook and Winnie the Pooh and classic designs like the Red Telephone Box and Marcel Breuer’s Bauhaus Wassily chair and the deaths of painters Claude Monet and Mary Cassatt.
This series of illustrated talks will look at the work of key painters, designers and photographers who celebrate an anniversary in 2026.
