Amanda Croft Lecture Series: Rooms
A series of eight lectures looking at 'Rooms' with Amanda Croft
Please note this lecture series is now fully booked.
All life is found in the rooms of the home.
For centuries artists have depicted scenes of domesticity and intimacy, recorded historical events, explored social and psychological relationships and reflected the gendered and class divisions within the domestic house, aristocratic mansion or regal palace.
This series of illustrated talks will examine how artists have responded to events such as births and marriages or the horrors of sickness, murder and death - that take place in the bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchens, dining and living rooms of our homes.
