Reach for the stars at the Ulster Museum’s Astrofest, packed with cosmic exploration, Ask an Astronomer sessions and hands-on fun for all ages.

Join our science curator and experts from the Irish Astronomical Association for a full day of talks, demonstrations and interactive activities. Learn how to capture your own astrophotography, handle real meteorites from the Moon and Mars, and ask astronomers anything you’ve ever wondered about space. 

This is a free event with no booking needed!

 

On the day... 

Got a question about space, stars or life on other planets? Speak to astronomers as they answer all of your space questions.

A creative area featuring space-themed colouring and badge-making using astronomical images.

View a selection of astrophotography images. 

Learn how to set up and use telescopes and binoculars, with opportunities to attend short sessions on astrophotography and observing the night sky.

Safely view the Sun if the weather allows.

Handle real fragments from the Moon, Mars and beyond.
